Garden Mix Seeds
This seed will produce some of the most beautiful flower colours ever seen. The photo below is of this mix after 2 seasons of cross pollination. We began by planting Hen & Chickens, Turkish Common, Turkish Giants, Giganthemum, Danish Flags, Pepper Box, Crimson, White & Pink Clouds (doubles) together as one crop in the same field. Added to this cross breeding this past season was the Persian White.
The somniferum poppy is easily crossed so different varieties should be grown at a reasonable distance from each other to keep the seed true. In this case, growing close together was deliberate. The result is very interesting and a circus of colours most unusual. The seed pods are also quite unusual for sizes and shapes including many with "chicks" from the Hen & Chickens variety. It is always a thrill to watch the Garden Mix begin to bloom as you never know what new and interesting flowers will appear!
